Potatoes, boiled and mashed <br />2 tbsp. Vegetable oil <br />½ tsp. Cumin seeds <br />1 pinch asafoetida <br />1 tbsp. Ginger-garlic-green chilli crush <br />3 tbsp. Coriander leaves, chopped <br />¼ tsp. Turmeric powder <br />Salt as required <br /> <br />For the batter:- <br />1 cup Gram flour <br />¼ tsp. Red chilli powder <br />½ tsp. Turmeric powder <br />½ to ⅔ cup Water <br />Salt as required <br /> <br />10 slices of bread <br />Oil for deep frying <br />Tomato ketchup for serving <br /> <br /> <br />Method:- <br />The Filling:- <br />- In a pan heat oil and add asafoetida, cumin seeds, ginger-garlic-green chilli crush and saute for 30-40 seconds. <br />- Add turmeric powder, boiled potatoes and mash them using a masher. <br />- Now add salt, coriander leaves and mix well after which turn the flame off and let it cool down to room temperature. <br />- Once cooled, apply the filling to the bread slice generously and make a sandwich of it. <br />- Cut these sandwiches into triangular shapes. <br /> <br />The Batter:- <br />- In a bowl, add gram flour, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt, water and mix well to form a batter thick enough to coat the sandwich. <br /> <br />The Frying:- <br />- Dip the sandwiches in the batter and fry them in hot oil for a minute on both sides. <br />- Once fried, drain the oil and transfer on absorbent kitchen paper. <br /> <br />Bread Pakoda is ready to eat with some Tomato Ketchup!
